Plant name

Alocasia (Wentii, Stingray, PortoDora, Macrorrhiza, Sarian, Zebrina, Frydek, Black Magic)

Alocasia plants are a fantastic addition to any garden. Their tall stems give rise to striking and distinct leaves in an array of shades. (Did we mention how much we love their funky foliage?). For optimal growth, these plants thrive in a humid climate with indirect sunlight and plenty of shade. All of our Alocasias, like every other plant we sell, are cultivated right here at our Nursery.. Beware: Alocasia plants are toxic if ingested. They contain calcium oxalate crystals that can cause irritation of the mouth, throat, and stomach in humans and pets.

Light requirement: Shade/ Part shade or indirect light
Water requirement: Check moisture levels of soils and water when dry to touch. Avoid overwatering as this can lead to water-logging and root rot.

Watering frequency: Water frequently to establish plant, then it only requires minimal drinks.
Soil: Well-draining, fertilised loamy soil. Suits acid, alkaline & neutral soil types.
Skill level: Suits Beginner Green thumb, low-maintenance plant.
