Buckinghamia celsissima (ivory curl flower)
A stunning Native tree that will be an impressive addition to your garden. The lovely, cascading grevillea-like blooms provide an eye-catching sight, in contrast with the dense, lush foliage. This feature tree entices native birds & beneficial insects with an excess of showy flowers during the summer season. The Buckinghamia celessima is grown on site at Lomalagi.
Light requirement: Full sun or part shade.
Water requirement: Water regularly to keep soil moist
Watering frequency: Water frequently when first planted to establish. Applying a layer of organic mulch around the base of the plant will help retain soil moisture.
Soil: Well-draining soil. Grows in loamy, sandy or clay
Skill level: Suits Beginner Green thumb,
Growth rate: Moderate to fast growth. Mulch and water regularly to establish plant for the first 3 months. Prune yearly to encourage dense growth and fertilise with a slow-release native fertiliser in spring. This plant can also be pruned to a shrub or hedge.

Size of leaf :There can be two types of different shaped leaves observed on the plant. Some are unlobed and elongated with an overall oblong-lanceolate shape, or can unevenly forked (usually young leaves) to 20 cm long and about 7 cm wide.
