Mandevilla, often called "rocktrumpet," is a lively genus of tropical and subtropical vines. These charming, cascading climbers twist and twine their way up, flaunting bright, trumpet-shaped blooms in a rainbow of colors. Their shiny, deep green leaves add a glossy touch to any garden adventure and we especially love the bursting profusion of blooms! Please note that the Diamantina Agathe Scarlet, Diamantina Agathe White, Diamantina Tourmaline Pink are all shrubs, not considered climbers and therefore do not require trellis support.
Light requirement: Need at least 6 hours of direct sunlight each day, but benefit from dappled sunlight or shade during the hottest part of the day in warmer areas.
Water requirement: Moderate. Water regularly during dry periods.
Watering frequency: Water frequently to establish plant, then it only requires minimal drinks.
Soil: Well-draining, fertilised soil.
Skill level: Suits Beginner Green thumb. Prune stems to ground level when leaves look tatty and old, which will promote new growth.
