Palm tree- New Guinea Clumping Palm
(Ptychosperma microcarpum) Slim, smooth grey stemmed clumping palm with long, divided feathery, light-green fronds that grow up to 7m in length. Grows in any soil type and in full sun to part shade and will even tolerate filtered sunlight/shade. An excellent all-rounder and low-maintenance palm. Perfect for screening and is fast-growing.

Light requirement: Full sun or part shade.
Water requirement: Minimal, thrives in drought once established.
Watering frequency: Occasional. Applying a layer of organic mulch around the base of the plant will help retain soil moisture.
Soil: Well-draining, fertilised soil.
Skill level: Suits Beginner Green thumb, low-maintenance plant.
Growth rate: Fast growing.
Suitable for container gardens: Choose a pot at least twice the size of plant. Water regularly if you are growing them in pots as it will dry out quickly
